The 2015 TAB Cricket Carnival was sponsored by Tabcorp and First Option Credit Union. It was a T20 format held on 26 March 2015. The games were played at Parkfield Cricket Club in Noble Park Victoria.

Match 1 - NSW V VIC

NSW won the toss and batted first. After a strong early bowling performance from Victoria, NSW eventually finished 4 for 137 runs off their allotted 20 overs. This was thanks mainly to a 75 not out from Jake Hill and 34 from Calem Curry. Victoria began their run chase well and were 5 for 95 in the 15th over. A good bowling performance from Matt McCann 3 for 12 off 2 overs and two spectacular boundary catches from Kieren Hines saw Victoria fall 19 runs short. Special mention to Andrew Duncan from Victoria for a well made 41. Result NSW by 19 runs. (This match was played for the IVOR ZOHS Shield) This shield commenced the tournament. Exactly 50 years ago, it was named after the first General Manager of Tabcorp (or VIC TAB as it was known then).

Match 2 - VIC v QLD

Victoria won the toss and batted first. Victoria compiled and outstanding score of 198 runs off their 20 overs. This was thanks mostly to Jim Handley (87 runs), H Barr (32 runs), R Khuwana (38 not out) and sundries of 29 (wides etc.). Chasing such a huge score was never going to be easy, which resulted in a loss of wickets (6 for 56 runs in the 15th over) before eventually being 8 down for 79 after their 20 overs. Result Victoria won by 119 runs.

Match 3 - NSW v QLD

NSW won the toss and batted first. Thanks to a good 66 runs from Michael Lawrence and 53 from Kieren Hines NSW was able to make 4 for 143 from their 20 overs. Qld commenced their run chase poorly with a wicket in the first over, followed another one in the fifth and seventh over. Qld finished their innings 6 down for 105 runs. Result NSW won by 38runs. This resulted in the Final of the FIRST OPTION CREDIT UNION SHIELD being played between NSW and Victoria.

Match 4 - NSW v VIC Final

NSW won the toss and as usual batted first. After a slow start NSW finished 4 for 130 runs after their overs. This was mainly thanks to Calem Curry 53 and Peter Johnston 38. Special mention to Nuwan Withange who bowled 4 overs for only 7 runs. Victoria began their run chase rather bizarrely. Wicket first ball followed by a six second ball. Victoria scoring the winning runs in the 17th over. A great effort from Jim Handley scoring 76 not out and well supported by Nuwan Withange 24 and R Khuwana 14.

Victoria winning the match by 7 wickets and winning the FIRST OPTION CREDIT UNION TROPHY. The player of the series was Jim Handley from Victoria. A very special thanks to Roger Fong and Adrian Noble for arranging the carnival and providing transport for all participants.
